Course Code PMASUP305 Operate offshore cranes
Overview

This course is recommended by the National Offshore Petroleum Safety Environment Management Authority (NOPSEMA) as outlined in the N-09000-GN0955 Guidance.

It provides candidates the necessary skills and knowledge to operate offshore crane, including a derrick, slewing pedestal, bridge and gantry, knuckle boom, or a mobile slewing crane on platforms such as Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO), Mobile Offshore Drilling Units (MODUs), Floating Storage Units (FSUs), fixed platforms, and dive vessels.

Training covers planning and preparing for lift, conducting routine checks of the crane, communicating with work group, operating crane offshore, shutting down crane, and reviewing operations.

Who Will Benefit This course is suitable for personnel who are required to operate a crane on an offshore facility.
Prerequisites

Although not legislated, it is generally expected that an offshore crane operator also holds a Tower Crane Licence.

Duration

3 to 5 days

Training Method Training is a combination of theory familiarisation and practical applications.
Course Delivery Training to operate offshore cranes is offered at our Clark campus in the Philippines. We also deliver training on site upon arrangement or provided that there are suitable infrastructure and equipment for training.
Completion Award

Upon successful completion of this unit a Statement of Attainment will be issued.
